Description

NGC 1342 is an open cluster located in the constellation Perseus.

It was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel in 1799. NGC 1342 is located approximately 2,090 light-years from the solar system, and the latest estimates give an age of 460 million years. The apparent diameter of the cluster is about 10.7 light-years.

According to the classification of open clusters of Robert Trumpler, this cluster contains less than 50 stars.
