Description

July 2nd, 2016 – Western Veil Nebula (NGC6960), this was my second object that I captured using the ZWO camera, and I was amazed of how much details I can gather.

The data captured were all at gain 300 and the camera were cooled to -20C, 30Subs for each of the (Ha, OIII, SII) 12nm Astronomik filters, the data were stacked with DSS and processed with Photoshop.

The Western Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant consisting of oxygen, sulfur, and hydrogen gas. The Western Veil Nebula is “an expanding cloud born of the death explosion of a massive star”. NGC 6960 (Caldwell 34) is also referred to as the Witch’s Broom as its delicate filamentary structure resembles it.
