Description

First light for a new to me Starlight Xpress Trius SX-814 mono camera. The data is wonderfully clean and a joy to work with.

Triangulum Galaxy (Messier 33) is a spiral galaxy approximately 3 million light years from Earth in the constellation Triangulum. Together with Andromeda and its satellite galaxies it is part of the Milky Way local group. M33 has very prominent and large HII regions, associated with intense star formation.

Description: Ha data inverted and annotated to display the vast number of HII regions in M33. They include a number of supernova remnants and ring-like nebulas surrounding Wolf-Rayet stars. These objects have been cataloged in the '80s and '90s (see panel D).
