Description

After long ... long .. 2 months of raining in North Texas, a 3-night clear sky window finally happened. The original plan is to capture a full set of Ha, S-II and O-III on California Nebula over 3 nights. But things happened, eventually the outcome of the weekend nights are 3.65 hours of Ha, 4.65 hours of S-II and 4.85 hours of O-III from my white zone backyard.

And I found out, the poor 4.0+ hours of S-II and O-III are nothing in the post processing. The first look at the integrated masters told me directly that the data is far from enough. Duh...

Okay, Ha data first. Here it comes.

- Astro Pixel Processor: Stacking (Calibration, Integration)
- PixInsight: Star Alignment
- PixInsight: Dynamic Crop
- PixInsight: Dynamic Background Extraction (# of passes)
- PixInsight: Deconvolution
- PixInsight: PixelMath Background Naturalization
- PixInsight: MultiscaleLinearTransform (Noise Reduction)
- PixInsight: ScreenTransferFunction / HistogramTransformation -> non-Linear state
- Photoshop: Google Nik Collection
- Lightroom: Final Touch-up

... I need a f2.0 300mm lens ...
