Description

A M42 center mixed Luminance PixInsight Bi-Color Ha, OIII narrowband picture. My 3. & last attempt on a suitable picture processing method.

Thanks to the guys who mentioned/showed this PixInsight pixelmath formula,

RED: iif(HaMixPI>.15,HaMixPI,(HaMixPI*.8)+(OIIIMixPI*.2))

GREEN: iif(HaMixPI>0.5,1-(1-OIIIMixPI)*(1-(HaMixPI-0.5)),OIIIMixPI*(HaMixPI+0.5))

BLUE: iif(OIIIMixPI>.1,OIIIMixPI,(HaMixPI*.3)+(OIIIMixPI*.2))

Usage of the pixelmath function can be seen here, a PC screen shot,

PI pixelmath screenshot

Manually quality sorted frames were stacked like this:

Lum: 68x1sec. SII: 32x10sec+45x30sec. Ha: 35x10sec+30x30sec. OIII: 83x5sec+26x30sec.

More details about the raw matrial can be shown upon request/if needed, thanks a lot.

My home build observatory is placed in my front yard/in the "red light" polution zone, have a look here,
