Description

What a cool galaxy lineup as viewed here from Terra Firma! It's almost like a page out of textbook: "and on the left, we have a face-on view of a spiral galaxy, NGC 5985. Next is an elliptical, NGC 5982. And finally on the right, an edge-on view of NGC 5981."

I took these exposures over the summer of 2018, starting in early July and ending in late August.

399 light frames, but only 4.9 hours with the short CMOS exposure times. It would be interesting to see how much I could improve the SNR with more data. Shooting LRGB in this orange zone is "just good enough" but would also be interesting to see this with data from a darker sky.
