Description

A quick grab of data to test out dithering which I've not previously used. Testing was done on one of the Messier targets that I've not previously imaged, open cluster M29, in less than ideal conditions with a hazy moonlit sky, but I was less interested in image quality than checking whether dither worked and how well it handled hot and cold pixels with sigma clip stacking. The dithering was much easier to set up than I expected, so I now wish I'd tried it much sooner with other images. The end result in terms of correcting hot & cold pixels was very good, though the final image suffers from the poor seeing conditions and very limited integration times. Still it's another image for my Messier collection, which now stands at 80.
