Description

Star Center from Panel 1 of my 15 Panel Andromeda Mosaic. Data Acquired over the last three months from MaRIO (Marathon Astronomical Remote Imaging Observatory).

A labor of love and great effort. Such tremendous heavens require no less.

Panel 1 HD 3346 TYC 2796-2404-1

5th Magnitude Variable star in Andromeda. 617 light years from our solar system. It’s a red giant with a surface temperature of 3978 Kelvins, 31% cooler than our suns. It is 54 times our suns diameter.

It’s pulsating semi regulating magnitude varies from 5.1 to 5.2 over a period of 11.5 days.
