Description

It's been a while since I've done a simple "star picture" ... about three years in fact. And this is my first attempt at doing a simple star field in color. The Double Cluster is bisible to the naked eye under dark skies, and about 7,500 light years away, The blue stars in these clusters are young by astronomical standards: just 12.8 million years old, born at a time when mammals and birds recognizable as such to us populated the earth. Interestingly, there appears to be some dust in the field as well, judging by some of the irregular starless expanses between and around the clusters.
