Description

NGC 925 (PGC 9332, MCG 5-6-45) is a magnitude 10.9 barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Triangulum, about 45 million light-years away. Delicate spiral arms extend outward from the central bar. Older yellowish suns dominate the central bar, while blue-white (young) star clusters and red hydrogen emission nebulae make up the spiral arms.

Location:Blue Mountain Vista Observatories, New Ringgold PA

Optics: Hyperion 12.5 inch f/9 2532mm focal length

Mount: Paramount ME

Camera/Filters: SBIG STL 11000 camera and Appogee Alta U8300

Exposure: Best subs were selected from hundreds taken during the two time periods. I used 96 luminance images (avg expo 6.6 min) 37 Red (7 min), 36 Green (5.8 min), and 28 Blue(8.9 miin). Total Exposure 22.5 hours (197 subs at 410 sec)

Processing: Image acquisition using CCD Autopilot. Initial processing was done using Maxim DL with subsequent processing using Photoshop.
