Description

My astronomy club donated a C14 and dome to the local school in Huntington over 20 years ago. Recently, the school requested some images taken with the C14 in order to prepare a presentation to modernize and upgrade the dome and scope for remote access. I had done very little with the scope from an imaging point. But, I thought I had some old M31 core data. The equipment is fantastic, but we just never really set it up for imaging properly. So, I found this data set from 9/11/2011 of M31 core. I picked out about 90 sixty second frames and proceeded to optimize the image. The stars weren't perfect, but oh those dust lanes. So, I went with the Starnet++ process in PI and went starless. I had to laugh that the Lumicon Giant Easy Guider was already an option in selecting equipment. I wasn't sure anyone had used those in years. I hope the image is successful in gaining support for the upgraded dome for future generations.
