Description

Recently I made a terrible discovery... I had some sort of oily "mist" coating the corrector plate on my Celestron 9.25" EdgeHD! Talk about killing an imaging session! I was very distraught because, having been around telescopes for several years, I know how difficult it is to clean them without causing other problems. I frantically starting thinking about what I could do to remedy this crappy problem, and I remembered that Houston has an awesome telescope shop called Land, Sea, and Sky on Richmond Ave. They had helped me purchase a dew heater some time ago and I figured I'd bring it to them in hopes that they could save me.

I'm happy to report that they did a phenomenal job as evidenced by NGC 2403 or Caldwell 7 above! This is a beautiful spiral galaxy 50,000 light years across located in Camelopardalis. Interestingly, this galaxy boasts 2 supernovae in the past (that we know of), one of which occurred as recently as 2004. I couldn't find a name for this galaxy so please let me know if it has one If not, I vote it be named the Land, Sea, and Sky galaxy since it has the colors of all 3!

All joking aside, I highly recommend Land, Sea, and Sky for all telescope maintenance!
