Description

I did not intend on imaging this object tonight. I had a list of three other objects. However I took test images of two of these objects and I could tell by the test images that I was not going to get an acceptable image because of the Moon. The 3rd object on my list was not high enough in the sky yet. So I decided to image M1 while waiting for this 3rd object to move higher in the sky. I've never imaged M1 with my 6 Inch Ritchey Chretien so I decided tonight would be a good night. I could see M1 in my test images but this may not have been a good choice because of the Moon.

I had light gradients to deal with and my raw frames had a washed out look. However I decided to continue imaging M1. I really hoped that I would be able to get at least 60-70 light frames to help deal with the noise. However when I got to light frame number 45 clouds moved in and covered the sky. So I did not get to image the 3rd object that I had on my list. With all of that said please enjoy my most recent image of M1.

Description: I decided to completely reprocess my image beginning with aligning and stacking. At this moment I'm more pleased with the reprocessed image than I was the original.
