Description

IC 405 is an amazing object, very popular one and deserves a good place in everybody's collection It is my second attempt for imaging it in narrowband and hope the third one to be an image that can proudly show. But still am considering this as pleasing one that can be shared

The AE Aurigae star (the brightest in the image) also named The Flaming Star is an irregular variable. A study of the star's proper motion gives hypothesis that in the past it could been part of the Orion's belt area. The star and the surrounding nebula are ~1500 l.y. away with size ~5 l.y. The whole IC 405 nebula, a mix of hydrogen and carbon-rich dust, is lit by the AE Aurigae energy which is very hot. The missing in the image blue part is a light reflection of the The Flaming Star.

This was not a main project. Just used the left clear skies after the main imaging object OU4 got low and till the late autumn fogs falling. Lesson learned from this attempt - the framing could be better, the OIII filter doesn't give good data and there is need to try B filter go get famous blue part
