Description

A shot from M42 to the flame and horsehead nebula and my first guided expose.
Since the almost full moon was only 60° away in the sky the background-brightness was quite high. Moreover in a third of the shots I catched a nearby tree in the image (the "banding" in the upper left side is what’s left of the branches after sigma-clipping). Therefore the image was quite noisy from pushing the details and because I haven’t got a dark-frame library from the new camera, so I didn't use darks.
The guiding itself worked quite well even though I messed up the polar alignment and there was quite some dew on the guiding scope. But nevertheless the MGEN did a good job.
