Description

It's been quite a year! I picked my 16 favorite astrophotos from this 2018, but it was hard to choose! Made some major strides in equipment, software, and skill. The ZWO ASI1600MM Pro that I bought in February has been performing fabulously, and PixInsight has been blowing my mind. Despite a variety of mount issues, I managed to get some great shots at the Texas Star Party and from closer to home. I even got to image with a super fancy remote Deep Sky West telescope! The images in the collage span 5 different mounts from the Deep Sky West's Paramount to my Vixen Polarie; 5 different telescopes and 2 camera lenses from DSW's 14-inch Planewave to my 3-inch Borg; and 3 different cameras, including DSW's Finger Lakes Instrumentation camera, my ZWO, and my good ol' Nikon D5300 DSLR. It's been a year full of galaxies, planets, nebulae, star clusters, and more.

2019 brings more PixInsight, hopefully more automation soon, another Texas Star Party, the dark clear skies of Chile and another solar eclipse, the start of graduate school in a new city, and many more adventures!
