Description

A great astro year is now over again. I was allowed to learn a lot of new things and got to know a lot of great astrocolleagues. :-)

The summer and autumn months brought incredibly good conditions and so I was able to image a total of 31 different objects over the year. I have chosen 20 of them in my personal "Best of". The mosaic contains a total exposure time of 208,5 hours - a look at the full resolution is worthwhile!

The objects from top left to bottom right are:

01) Simeis 57 / DWB 111 - Propeller Nebula (SHO)

02) NGC 2264 - Cone Nebula & Christmas Tree Cluster (SHO)

03) M20 - Trifid Nebula (HaLRGB)

04) M1 - Crab Nebula (SHO)

05) NGC 6888 - Crescent Nebula (Bicolor)

06) M106 - The Splendid Galaxy (HaLRGB)

07) M16 - The Eagle Nebula (SHO)

08) M5 - Globular Cluster in the constellation Serpens

09) NGC 6820 / NGC 6823 / SH2-86 (SHO)

10) vdB 141 - The Ghost Nebula (LRGB)

11) NGC 7293 - Helix Nebula (Bicolor)

12) M8 - Lagoon Nebula (SHO)

13) NGC 660 - The Polar Ring Galaxy (HaLRGB)

14) M27 - Dumbbell Nebula (Bicolor with RGB stars)

15) Collinder 399 - The Coathanger (LRGB)

16) M63 - Sunflower Galaxy (HaLRGB)

17) M97 - Owl Nebula (Bicolor)

18) NGC457 - The Owl Cluster (LRGB)

19) IC 5070 - Pelican Nebula (SHO)

20) NGC 2174 - Monkey Head Nebula (SHO)

All the best for next year! :-)

Frank
