Description

IC 2177 is a region of nebulosity that lies along the border between the constellations Monoceros and Canis Major. It is a roughly circular H II region centered on the Be star HD 53367. RCW2 forms the Seagull head.

This is a one night high gain image, captured with the ASI1600MM-C at Gain 200, Offset 50, temp -18C.

Image consists of: 18 x 120s Ha, 15 x 120s Oiii, and 18 x 120s Sii. There is very little Oiii in this object. Scope used is the TS115 Triplet APO reduced to f5.5. Mount is the CGX.

The data is pretty thin here, it probably needs at least double the sub numbers to fill it out more.
