Description

Central region with best data and least amount of unresolved mosaic issues of a much larger work in progress with data from 2018.

This crop contains about 6 of the base mosaic panels plus integrations of separately obtained data using the same gear for the Propeller nebula and North America nebula.

This image is all R, G, B, no L or Ha.

Names for the dark gap of brownish stuff between the NA nebula and IC 1318 on the other side include the Cygnus Rift and the Northern Coalsack.

"Starting at the constellation of Cygnus, where it is known as the Cygnus Rift or Northern Coalsack, the Great Rift stretches to Aquila; to Ophiuchus, where it broadens out; to Sagittarius, where it obscures the Galactic Center; and finally to Centaurus." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Rift_(astronomy)#Properties

This great mosaic by Robert Gendler on APOD from 2007 of Cygnus is inspiring and worth a look too: https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap070920.html
