Description

this is the more luminous part of SH2-132.

SH2-132 is a very large HII zone (~ 3.2 kpc) low in emission, located in Cephea and is ionized by 2 stars of Wolf-Rayet (WR-152 and 153) and a dozen OB stars (hot and massive stars early type O or B that have a short life span and do not leave much of the born site and emit a lot of UV).

The gas distribution in the environs of Sh2-132 can be explained in a scenario where the massive stars in the region photodissociated, ionized and swept up the dense molecular material from the parental cloud through their strong stellar winds and intense ultraviolet (UV) photon flux.

The very bright region in yellow towards the left edge is referenced IRAS 221187 + 5559 is a very strong source in IR and is a zone of formation of stars.

towards the center of the image one can also see some globules of Bock
