Description

NGC 3953 is a barred spiral galaxy in Ursa Major. It has an apparent magnitude of 10.8 and a size of 6.9 x 3.5 arc minutes.

Date: Mar 2014

Location: New Ringgold PA

Optics: LUM: Starizona Hyperion f/8 12.5 inch, FL 2540 mm

Mount: Paramount ME

Camera: Sbig STL-11000

Guiding: Self-guided

Exposure: LRGB: L:22x10 min R:16x8 min, G:14x6 min, B:13x10 min for a total of 9.4 hrs. (65 subs at avg 519 sec)

Processing: Image acquisition using Maxim DL and CCD Autopilot. The Lum and RGB color images were created in Maxim with final processing in Photoshop.
