Description

I was just checking out the data acquisition software, Voyager. Once I sort of had it up and running I decided to shoot something, just to see if it worked. M42 was there, but would go behind a tree in an hour. For my purposes it didn't matter. The 1/4 Moon dictated H alpha. 9X360" seemed about right.

When I processed the data, I was floored. M42 in H alpha is a whole different thing. Among many things, M43 looks totally different, and Running Man moves.

Minor points. I actually like the center saturated, kind of a light bulb effect, and yes, I know it's upside down (isn't that Hemispherism?).

If this inspires others to try M42 in Ha, I'm a happy man.
