Description

A capture of Jupiter with Ganymede (close left) and Io (far right) in close company.

No ADC used for this capture.

The current profound lack of white clouds in the EZ is again evident which, looking back through captures throughout 2018, evolved progressively from around June and may be related to the numerous festoons originating from the NEB. (There's my ill-informed attempt at a description, in any case ... please do correct me if I'm using the nomenclature incorrectly!)

Seeing was good (7 on Pickering scale) but transparency was not great and variable (high level haze with occasional light clouds passing by).

Starting to worry a little less about the damage done to my corrector by fungal growth over the holiday break - still a little noisy, but seeing more detail despite the iffy transparency, 36 deg altitude and lightening of the horizon due to the pending sunrise.

And as a bonus, I caught a nice visual satellite flare from ALOS (DAICHI) during my imaging session.
