Description

This event occurred at about 0700 UTC on January 21st during the tail end of the Lunar Eclipse. While fortunately clear during the eclipse proper, this strong halo appeared in our sky for over an hour as the Moon left the edges of Earth's shadow.

Multiple exposures of 4", 1", and 1/4" at f/2.8 and ISO 800 combined in Photoshop for noise reduction

Description: Fully processed HDR, all at f/2.8 ISO 800: 10 x 4", 30 x 1", 15 x 1/4", 15 x 1/15", 10 x 1/60", 10 x 1/250". Stacked in Photoshop CS6 using numerous masked layers to slowly bring down Moon luminosity. Ported to PI for TGV and MLT noise reduction, then returned to Photshop for gradient reduction, contrast increase and saturation enhancement
