Description

Over the past few months, I revisited the Orion Nebula Complex with my new imaging setup consisting of a WO GT81 APO refractor and full-spectrum modified Nikon D5300 DSLR. This time I imaged with a 12nm H-alpha filter. I plan to combine this narrowband data with OSC RGB data...

M42/M43/Running Man Nebulas imaged on January 14&15, 2019 with WO GT81 at F4.7 (382 mm focal length) using Flat6A II field flattener/0.8x reducer, Optolong 12nm Hydrogen Alpha Filter, and full spectrum modified Nikon D5300. Stacked using PI for a total integration time of ~3.5 hours using 180 sec subs at ISO 400. Calibrated using batch pre-processing (BPP) script using darks, bias, and flats. Registered and stacked using StarAlighment and Integration. Post-processed in Pixinsight: Cropped, gradient removal with DBE, MLT noise reduction, stretched using Histogram Transformation Tool, Curves Transformation, TGVDenoise, HDR Multiscale Transform, Local Histogram Equalization, and Morphological Transformation to shrink stars.
