Description

One of a series of photos taken of the Super Blood Wolf Lunar Eclipse on January 20, 2019 from my backyard in SE Texas. Images were taken with a Canon 5D Mk IV using a Canon 24-70mm L f/2.8 II lens @ 70mm. Sadly, I did not have a telephoto with me. Conditions were not good at all with a thin layer of clouds causing focus and resolution issues throughout the event. This image was taken just before maximum totality at 10:42 PM CST and contains what is likely a flash from a meteor impact - a small light dot near the bottom edge of the moon in this image (~5:00 position). I was bracketing shots and shooting every 60 seconds at that time. The frames before and after did not show this small dot. I was very lucky.
