Description

Molecular clouds in Constellation Octans near Southern Pole

This is a dusty area near the southern pole. Its declination is strongly Southern (DEC -84 to -88), it can be observed exclusively from the regions of the southern hemisphere. All these areas around the souther pole are full of molecular clouds.

An overview via skymap shows the images i did so far:

(this image is in the center of the overview from skymap)

SKYMAP overview

If you switch in the skymap overview from "Astrophoto" to "Infrared images" (top left)

you can see the mass of clouds beeing there and waiting to be captured.

The infrared image is the base for my plan to catch all molecular clouds around the Souther pole.

All images have been exposed during July, August and September 2018
