Description

Rosette Nebula - C49 , This region of mostly hydrogen gas and dust is 5000 light years away in the constellation of Monoceros. The enormous cloud is estimated to be 5.2 light years across.

This image was rendered using 2 hours of hydrogen-alpha and 30 minutes of oxygen-iii exposures. Stacked in DSS and processed in PS.
