Description

After some clear nights and a lot of testing, setting adjustments, getting used to the auto focuser, etc. etc. the first result. Definitely a difference between the 'old' 4" refractor. Processing has to be adjusted as well, not that well done so far, but better than the first trials that I had and did not even dare to post 😉. Right now the RASA is out and taking some RGB images, I wanted to test this as well. The distance between focus and camera is still for the 2" filters too large, maybe 2 mm or so, since I saw already the RGB data which are much better at the edges, and this distance is ~2mm shorter. I guess I have to get another very short extender. Well, the journey just began ...

Added RGB data.

Description: Added RGB data to the Hα. I only own 1.25" LRGB filters, and that clearly is not enough for this setup, the edges were almost black, so I had to crop out quite a bit of the field. I might use my 'old' Altair color camera for RGB shots in the future, I will see how this works out. Additionally the processing is still to improve, even 30 seconds exposures for RGB data are with the 8"RASA quite impressive in how much information it collects.
