Description

A proplyd is a syllabic abbreviation of an ionized protoplanetary disk, is an externally illuminated photoevaporating disk around a young star. There are a few in this image highlighted by their Hydrogen-alpha emissions.

This is a reprocessing of an image that was lost in the earlier event we had on Astrobin. Hopefully we have learned something in the past four years.
