Description

I began trying to make astro images exactly one year ago. I thought I would document the progress I have made by publishing my first image I ever produced and image of exactly the same thing to illustrate this quite graphically. Yes... I have worked pretty hard and studied a lot, made tons and tons of mistakes and I'm still just scratching the surface of this wonderful avocation.

But one thing is sure, I would not have progressed anywhere near as much as I have if it were not for the general membership of Astrobin who share so much and the encouragement and generous advice from a number if very, very nice folks.

The original image was done with a Celestron 8e and a Nikon D3100 and was 15 thirty second frames.

So to all of the people new to this, if an old dog like me can learn some new tricks, you can too.
