Description

This was my third attempt at capturing the Orion Nebula, this time using a coma corrector. Still working out a few issues with focus and image quality. This was captured slightly out of focus, with 59mm of working distance from coma corrector to sensor.

I had a lucky break in the clouds with this one. It's been overcast for weeks. I had just enough time to capture 100 x 45" frames before the clouds rolled in. Unfortunately, only about 20 of those frames had decently round stars. I left it up to DSS to select the best 80% of those for stacking.

The next time I attempt this, I plan to be using autoguiding.
