Description

Like for many of you, the night sky here in Northern California has been obscured with storm clouds for many weeks, meaning it is time to revisit old data and run some experiments. About two years ago my only camera was a Canon 70D Full Spectrum Mod, so I have lots of DSLR galaxy data. Much of those data are plagued with thermal noise, with the camera sometimes reaching 35C. I wondered how those DSLR data might be improved using Luminance data from my ZWO ASI1600MM Cooled Pro. This image combines six hours of DSLR data and 1 hour of luminance data from with ASI1600. It seems to have made a big difference. For comparison, Version B is the original DSLR image.
