Description

A lunar shot containing the Apennine Mountains. A quick capture taken from a car park at a meeting of the local astronomy club.

- Celestron CG5 mount, Skywatcher 127 MAK, QHY5LII-M, no filters, partial/thin cloud.
- 1000 frames, MONO16, SER, captured at 15fps.
- Autostakkert 3, stack and sharpen best 10% of 1000 frames.
- GIMP for Contrast and dust bunny removal.

The 3 craters at mid-left of the image are close to Hadley Rille and the landing site of the Apollo 15 mission.

Description: A re-process of this. The SER file was stacked with AS!3 using Resample 2.0 X (best 15% of 1000 frames ) and the unsharpened output file was sharpened in Registax 6 (Linear wavelet settings layer2=50, layer3=25, layer1=21) . GIMP for crop, remove dust motes, contrast.
