I have been trying to get a solar setup going for a while. I bought an used Quark Chromosphere about an year ago and never got it to work properly. I contacted Daystar and they did a cleanup and some adjustment for no charge! Talk about awesome customer service.

I also got a 90mm F11 Orion achromat (was like 90$ used!) and replaced focuser (which was more expensive than the scope).

Ever since I got back, the weather has been terrible. We literally did not have a clear day. Today, I was determined to test it and I got the setup working with moving clouds. Got about 30 minutes before it clouded again.
However, I was pleased to see some usable data. I still have no idea what I am doing in terms of processing.

This is processed in Pixinsight (restoration filter with no real idea what works :) ). Finished in Photoshop (added color and contrast).

All things considered, I am happy to have gotten something out of it. I will need to work on the setup more (need to figure out focus motor) and aperture to see if I can get more contrast. But it is a start!

Noticed inverted processing from other solar images and gave it a go
