Description

Yet another September night of exceptional seeing on Mars. Very happy I've decided to revisit these old datasets giving them a full WinJUPOS drizzle stack treatment.

This time imaging run takes place later on in the evening with the planet descending towards western horizon (meridian transit at 9 pm Canberra time). The movie covers a period of 34 minutes between 10:58 and 11:32 pm, seven nine minute composites have been used. Conditions deteriorated slightly around the mid session and I've applied additional DNR to smooth out lesser frame composites. South is on top in this view.

Sinus Gomer and western portions of Mare Cimmerium exhibit some very dark albedos with the peak of Elysium Mons standing out in the south. Eridania and Mare Chronium are visible in high southern latitudes with a dark linear feature flanking the SPC. There's a hint of terminator projection at 2 o'clock, most likely high altitude cloud. Bright Aeolis and Zephyria regions show reasonable amount of fine detail despite <20 arc second disk.
