Description

Yesterday, it was clear for a few hours. Keen on trying my new binoviewer on the moon, somewhat later in the evening, I set up my Maksutov.

When viewing the Orion Nebula, I suddenly got the idea to try some pictures in the hour before the moon got too high.

After doing a very rough drift alignment, I got some 30 minutes of images with my Canon EOE 1000D @ ISO 1600, with 15 seconds per image (just a little bit too long).

The end result is not stunning, but what strikes me is the color, which is much more on the blue end than with my 102/600 refractor. I like the tiny details in this nebula!
