Description

This is a nice pair of small NGC galaxies (at the top) and a nearby compact galaxy group that are all just a degree north of the more famous NGC 7331. The NGCs are face on and edge on, which makes a nice combo. The face on shows some nice blue spirals. The compact group appear to be all lenticulars and ellipticals. It doesn't seem to have any commonly used designation.

The brightest in the cluster are:

Top row: PGC 69406, PGC 3088581

Next row: PGC 3966329, PGC 69386, PGC 69378

Next row: PGC 3966344, PGC 69384 UGC 12127

Bottom row: PGC 69389

They seem to be spread out from 75mly out to 85mly for the larger galaxies, and the small fainter ones just happen to be along the same line of sight out around 400mly.

If you look carefully when you scan about, you can find at least two fairly large faint buish irregulars and a a nice little barred spiral ring galaxy hiding in the glare of one of the bright stars in the field. Happy hunting! I can't find identifiers for most of these little galaxies, even in the Simbad
