This area of Veil Nebula is located to the left of the bright star 52 Cyg.

About 7,000 years ago, a star with mass greater than twenty solar masses, ceased its nuclear reactions and evolved into the supernova phase.

At an estimated distance of 1,500 light-years in the direction of the Swan constellation, we can find the remnant of this star extending by a diameter of ~3 degrees, equivalent to 6 times the size of the Moon.

This cloud of gas and heated dust exhibits structures formed by delicate filaments coated with extraordinary beauty and is known as the Veil Nebula.
