Description

The Rosette, the giant rose in the sky, folded out of the primordial gas and dust of the great void. This was an object I just ended up "winging" a couple of nights in February, as it just so happened to roll around. Managed to acquire 24 hours of data across all three channels, and it all ended up being pretty good, clean data.

This is an object I have not imaged since my first year as an astrophotographer. It was my third or fourth object imaged, then I gave it another try about 10 months later. I have not pointed my scope at Rosette since, and I'm quite happy at how well it ended up coming out in the end. There is quite a considerable amount of detail in there, detail I was never really able to pick up before with a DSLR.
