Description

Never noticed that before, but note that there is a dust in the upper right part of the FOV, right on top of the Witch's Broom Nebula! This is not an artifact of the data or from processing, you can see that stars are actually notably dimmer than in all other parts of the image. It looks like the explosion that created the nebula cleared some area of space from dust and now the dust only resides right outside the border of the expanding nebula! Amazing to see this, gives you some perspective. I actually don't remember seeing this dust in other images. Maybe because most of them are NB.

Please take a look at the image at full resolution!

Very hard to process area, the field is very busy with stars. The data is quite old, from summer of 2016, was waiting on the shelf until I got proper tools to deal with it.
