Description

A quick attempt at this beautiful area in south-western part of Gemini. Only 40 minutes integration time. Background looks still noisy but I'm quite satisfied with the final result.

Interesting to see the difference between the two open clusters, populated with less than 100 recent bluish stars for M 35 and more than 100 old yellow stars for NGC 2158. Distance plays also a role, as M35 lies only 2'300 l.y. away, while NGC 2158 is much further away, about 16'500 l.y.

The Jellyfish Nebula, IC 443, stands out nicely above star field, showing some interesting cloud structures inside. Other fainter nebulosity, like IC 444, are much more difficult to light up due to the lack of integration.

Stacking under DSS, post processing under PI and final touch-up in Photoshop, as usual.

Clear skies to all!
