Description

This photo shows the Western Veil Nebula, as well as some other minor nebulosities in the region of the Cygnus constellation. This nebula, along with two others (Eastern Veil and Pickering's Triangle), constitute the visible portions of the Cygnus Loop. This Loop is the remnants of a supernova star. The gases resulted from the supernova have grown up in size and now cover a wide portion of the sky (approximately 6 full Moons in diameter).
