Description

The spectacular bright star Sirius highlights this image of Orion’s big hunting dog. This image was shot using a Double Fog 3 diffusion filter to accentuate the constellations’ main stars. 25 light frames were taken, each at 23 secs at f/5 and ISO 1600 on a 18-55mm kit lens at 35mm. Camera and lens were mounted on an AstroTracTT320AG tracker unguided. Canis Major's sole Messier object, M41 is seen just below Sirius.
