Description

Complex and beautiful, the Rosette Nebula (Caldwell 49) is often overlooked as overexposed. I am guilty of this very thing, but having never imaged the object in narrow-band I decided to revisit this behemoth. Nestled in the constellation Monoceros the Unicorn, the inner workings of this object are a wonder to behold; a macrocosm of gas clouds all surrounding a central cluster of stars. (NGC 2244). This shot was taken from my horribly light polluted back yard, with nearly a full moon, to boot.
