Description

NGC 3718 is either a warped spiral or lenticular galaxy approx. 52 million light years away in Ursa Major. It likely got the weird S-shape (that to me almost resembles a klein bottle in a way) from gravitational interaction with NGC 3729, located top left. On the bottom is Hickson 56, a chain of 5 galaxies stretching 48 kilo-parsecs across.
