Description

This object was discovered on January 22, 2019. Perhaps caused by a neutron star or black hole companion star, a "supernova imposter" mimics the behavior of a supernova, but does not destroy the progenitor star.

Although I started capturing this M 51 data on March 4th, I didn't realize I also captured SN AT2019abn until I saw a few images on Astrobin. I went back and checked my data and, sure enough, I had my first supernova capture!
