      Description

      NGC 2170 is a reflection nebula some 2,400 light years distant in the constellation of Monoceros. It was first observed by William Herschel on 16 October 1784. In addition to the NGC 2170, this image also contains a mix of other reflection, emission and dark nebulae.

      Data for this image were collected 8 February and 11 March 2019 from an imaging rig in Spain that is privately-owned and remotely operated by Barry Wilson and me.

      Filters: Astrodon

      Mount: 10 Micron GM2000HPS

      Ha: 36 x 1200s

      Lum: 24 x 600s

      Red: 18 x 600s

      Green: 18 x 600s

      Blue: 18 x 600s

      A total of 25 hours exposure.
