Description

Images from the following two scopes (piggybacked) contributed to this image:

AG12+ASI1600MM at .70 asec/pix

TV127is+ASI183MM at .75 asec/pix.

They were all registered to the best Ha image taken on the AG12.

Using L (synthetic from RGB) from the TV NP127is refractor effectively eliminates the spikes from the AG12.

The Hercules Cluster (Abell 2151) is a cluster of about 200 galaxies some 500 million light-years distant, located visually (not literally) in the constellation Hercules. It is rich in spiral galaxies and shows many interacting galaxies. The cluster is part of the larger Hercules Supercluster, which is itself part of the much larger Great Wall super-structure.

Arp 272 is a remarkable collision between two spiral galaxies, NGC 6050 and IC 1179, located in the lower central area of this image. A third galaxy is interacting with them. Image B is a Hubble image of these three interacting galaxies.

The cluster's brightest member is the giant elliptical galaxy NGC 6041, top center. However, it does not appear brighter in this image than many of the other galaxies.
