A lot went wrong this evening. Autoguiding was terrible until i performed the meridian flip. After the flip guiding was very smooth. The next day i tried to track down the problem but was not very successful. It seems that the scope was not well balanced - or there is some sort of mechanical problem in the northeast?
Whatever, another problem occured: Something is terrible wrong with my flats. They inject a lot of noise into the image (remember the 'annoying-noise-blob' i tried to track down in february?). The reason for this noise is unknown to me, but it is clear that the flats are the source. Maybe i will upload an image of a noised flat later.
[Edit]: I uploaded an image called "The 'annoying-noise-blob', so if you want to see it in it's full splendor just take a look :-)
Nevertheless the image is much better than my first owl nebula a year ago - no wonder, the ASI294 Pro is superior to the uncooled ASI178MC i used back than. And i had to stop imaging after an hour or so due to an incoming flu i got last year. So all in all i improved my M 97 in my personal collection. Maybe i'll be back next year, hoping that i know how to take flats properly :-)
[Edit] I reprocessed the image with my new darks (taken in a refrigerator), without bias and with flats from february. Seems to be better, i think.
